The International EPD System is a worldwide programme operating in accordance with ISO 14025 for type III environmental declarations. They operate a system to verify and register EPDs and maintain a publicly-available library of EPDs and PCRs. Thousands of EPDs for a wide range of product categories are registered by companies in many countries. The rules guiding the overall administration and operation of the International EPD System are the General Programme Instructions.
International EPD has partnered with local organisations to market and register EPDs in selected markets: Argentina, Australia & New Zealand (EPD Australasia), Brazil, Egypt, India, Latin America, North America, Southeast Asia, South Korea, and Turkey. All EPDs registered with regional partners are also registered with the International EPD System.
For building and construction products, the International EPD System and all regional partners additionally align with the European standard EN 15804 and are founding members of the European ECO Platform.
Registration of EPDs with the International EPD System is open for companies and organisations in any country. The International EPD System also collaborates with other EPD programme operators acting according to ISO 14025 by mutual recognition of EPDs registered with other programmes and PCR harmonisation.
