Logos

The EPD Australasia logo should be used on all official printed materials and declarations connected to the EPD Australasia Programme to avoid confusion with other types of product-related environmental labels and declarations.

The EPD Australasia logo symbolises a yardstick, a standardised tool for objective measurement.  It is a registered trademark of IVL Svenska Miljöinstitutet AB in Australia and New Zealand and licenced to EPD Australasia Ltd. Its use is subject to the conditions set out in the International EPD System GPIs and Rules for the Use of the EPD Australasia Logo and Guidance on Claims and the Terms and Conditions set out in the EPD Australasia Ltd Registration agreement.

The strapline ‘Environmental Product Declaration’ has been added to the logo to develop the market for EPDs in Australasia.

A range of formats are available for download below. If you want other formats or wish to use the EPD Australasia logo on a background other than white or black please contact the Secretariat.

Usage groups

The logo may be used by the following groups:

EPD owners with EPDs currently registered with EPD Australasia:

• On the EPD document – the logo shall be included on the cover page and/or as part of the programme-related information. Our logo with or without the strapline can be used.
• On product-specific packaging or promotional material (e.g. advertising, brochures, website, social media) for the organisation’s product or service covered by the EPD.  Our logo with the strapline shall be used together with the EPD registration number and with a reference to www.epd-australasia.com for more information.
• On general organisation promotional material (e.g. advertising, brochures, business cards, website, social media) promoting their EPD or EPDs. Our logo with the strapline shall be used.

LCA/EPD consultants, approved verifiers, and accredited certification bodies:

• Consultants who are current members of ALCAS or LCANZ may use the logo to promote their EPD development services to Australasian organisations. Our logo without the strapline shall be used.
• Independent verifiers who are approved to verify EPDs and accredited certification bodies may use the logo to promote their EPD verification and/or certification services to Australasian organisations. Our logo without the strapline shall be used.

Educational institutions:

• Tertiary education organisations (TEOs), Universities, TAFES, Institutes of Technology and Polytechnics (ITPs), Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), secondary schools, colleges and continuing professional development providers may use the logo for educational purposes. Our logo with the strapline shall be used.

Other uses of the logo are only allowed based on a written agreement with EPD Australasia Ltd.

Unauthorised use and/or misuse of the logo is not permitted. EPD Australasia will investigate potential misuse of the logo, whether through negligence or fraud. Misuse may lead to the withdrawal of EPDs and/or legal action.
