EPD Australasia reduces fees to support SMEs

EPD Australasia has updated its fee structure, with reduced joining and annual fees for most organisations.

The changes are designed to improve access for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) seeking to develop and register Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) through Australasia’s largest and most established EPD programme.

Reduction in annual fees

Annual fees for organisations with turnover between $10 million and $100 million have been reduced by between NZD800-1,000 / AUD970-1,180 which is a 17% to 28% decrease.

For micro and small businesses with a turnover under $10 million, annual fees have been reduced by between 3% and 13%.

Reduction in joining fees

Joining fees have also been lowered for most organisations by NZD600 / AUD635, a reduction of 33% to 59%. Joining fees have been removed entirely for business units of existing members and for industry and trade associations.

The new fee structure applies to invoices issued on or after 1 April 2026.

Supporting broader EPD uptake

EPD Australasia CEO Kelly Taylor said the changes reflect the continued growth of the programme and a focus on accessibility for organisations of all sizes.

“The success of the programme has exceeded our expectations in terms of organisations registering EPDs. As a mature EPD programme operator, together with EPD International, we have listened to our stakeholders and are working to lower fees and make EPDs more accessible beyond larger organisations,” she said.

EPD Australasia Board Chair Cyril Giraud said the fee reductions respond to current industry conditions while supporting broader uptake.

“It is uncommon in the current climate to reduce prices. We are focused on becoming more client-focused and responding to the needs of SMEs. Alongside an increase in approvals of pre-verified EPD tools, these fee reductions will support businesses in Australia and New Zealand to develop and register EPDs with us. This approach also supports long-term programme sustainability and progressing our EPD advocacy strategy.”
