10th Dec 2024
In October 2024, Kelly Taylor, CEO of EPD Australasia, and Andrew Moore, Technical Advisor at EPD Australasia, travelled to Gothenburg, Sweden, to attend the EPD International Stakeholder Conference. This annual event, hosted by EPD International, provided an invaluable opportunity to connect with the global EPD community.
Alongside the conference, a workshop brought together representatives from regional EPD hubs in Latin America, South East Asia, and Egypt. During this session, participants discussed shared challenges and experiences, while EPD Australasia contributed valuable knowledge and insights to support these emerging regional hubs.
The conference itself focused on key topics such as proposed European Union regulations and advancements in digitalisation. A standout presentation was delivered by Stacy Smedley from Building Transparency in North America, who leads the EC3 database. She explored the potential of EPDs in the digital realm. Additional presentations delved into the future of AI and the application of pre-verified tools.
Throughout their trip, Kelly and Andrew engaged with EPD International staff, exchanging technical expertise and gaining a deeper understanding of operational improvements within the organisation. They also connected with LCA consultants and staff from other EPD programs, including EPD Norway and EcoPlatform, fostering valuable relationships within the global EPD network
Overall, the International Stakeholder Conference proved to be an excellent platform for gaining insights and identifying opportunities for mutually beneficial partnerships that will help shape the future of EPD Australasia.
