New EPD Registration Number Format

In response to the growing global demand for EPDs and improved version control for EPDs, a new format for registration numbers has been released.

The new registration number will be in the format ‘EPD-IES’ followed by seven numbers. The last three numbers after the colon signify the version number. For example, EPD-IES-1234567:001.

  • New format: EPD-IES-XXXXXXX:XXX
  • Old format: S-P-XXXXX

For version control in the new format, whole sequential numbering must be used – for example: 001, 002, 003.

Currently, registered EPDs will be published with registration numbers in the old and new format. For example, EPD-IES-0012345:001 (S-P-12345).

From May 2024, new EPDs will only be published with a registration number in the new format.

Users searching for an EPD using the old or new registration numbers on the EPD Australasia website or the International EPD System EPD library will be directed to the same EPD.
