We recently received an enquiry about EPDs for digital technologies in buildings. Namely network switches, servers, WAPs, and screens.
At the moment there is no specific PCR for electronic equipment within the International EPD System. One is currently under development with consultation due to start this month (see attachment from the PCR library after searching for ‘electronic”).
If you need EPD data for electronic equipment in the interim we suggest this approach:
Firstly – ask for EPDs that are independently verified against a PCR developed by an EPD Programme Operator that is mutually recognised by the International EPD System. A list of these is here.
Secondly – ask for EPDs that are independently verified against a PCR developed by an EPD Programme Operator that are listed as “an established ECO EPD Programme Operator” by Eco Platform. A list of these is here. PEP Ecopassport – is an “established ECO EPD Programme Operator” and has many EPDs developed for electronic equipment.
