When an EPD is published, the EPD Australasia allows for the information to be adapted for specific user needs or market applications.
A Climate Declaration is one such single environmental impact category. A Climate Declaration is a stand-alone declaration of the global warming potential of a product or service, describing the emissions of greenhouse gases, expressed as CO2 equivalents, for a product’s life cycle. This measure is often referred to as a “carbon footprint”.
They are very useful when an organisation with an EPD wants to just communicate a product’s carbon footprint.
ASP Access Floors have now published Climate Declarations for their Urban Access and Icon Access floor systems. Woven Image have published a Climate Declaration for EchoPanel and Mura textile products.
Many more companies have published Climate Declarations with the International EPD System.
It’s worth noting that organisations with Australasian EPDs are also eligible for streamlined carbon neutral certification as part of the Australian government’s National Carbon Offset Standard (NCOS) for Products and Services.
