How to read and use an EPD – free webinar – 29th November

EPD Webinar 29 November 2018Looking at an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) can be confronting as it can just look like tables of numbers. You’ve been told they provide verified environmental data and that can be used to make more sustainable material choices but what the heck do all those numbers mean and how can it help me?

Australasian EPD Programme is holding a free webinar on Thursday 29th November – hosted by the Australian LCA Society (ALCAS).

Presenters Stephen Mitchell (Chair – Australasian EPD Programme), Jeff Vickers (thinkstep ANZ) and Rob Rouwette (Start2See) will present on some basics about EPDs:

  • What EPDs are and what they aren’t.
  • The environmental impacts included – what are they and why are they important?
  • How companies use EPDs internally and in their marketing
  • Examples of basic comparison between functional units
  • Process for making public comparative assertions
  • How EPDs are being used by third-parties (e.g. within tools and rating systems, decision makers, etc.).
