Incinerator Bottom Ash Aggregate (IBAA)
Avertas Energy
Avertas Energy is the first large scale Waste to Energy facility in Australia, located in the heart of the Kwinana industrial Area, south of Perth Western Australia. Using tried and tested moving grate combustion technology, the facility is able to process up to 460,000 tonnes / year of residual (post recycling) waste.
Incinerator Bottom Ash Aggregate (IBAA) is the extracted aggregate that is a by-product of the Waste to Energy process. The process involves screening, a magnetic separation process to separate ferrous and non-ferrous metals and gravimetric separation for light fractions. The IBAA can be used in a variety of Bound and Unbound applications including concrete blocks, road sub-base, drainage aggregate, general fill and others.
