Updated PCR for construction products released

The latest version of the Product Category Rules (PCR) for construction products has been released. This PCR is the most used PCR in the Programme.

Some changes with the new version PCR 2019:14 Construction Products (EN 15804+A2) (v1.3.1) are:

  • Clarified rules on modelling infrastructure and capital goods.
  • New guidance on the allocation of scrap.
  • New requirements for construction products that are also Electric and Electronic Equipment.
  • New Annex 3 to clarify and illustrate the modelling of the primary energy use indicators.
  • More changes are listed in Section 8 of the PCR.

An updated template for the verification report will follow soon.

Version 1.2.5 of the PCR remains valid until the end of 2023.

The validity of Version 1.11 of the PCR was extended until the end of July 2023. EPDs that are registered to this version can be updated, however, their validity date cannot be extended.

The updated PCR can be downloaded by searching for “Construction products” in the PCR Library on the EPD International website.
