Construction EPDs compliant with EN15804 (such as all EPDs for construction products registered with EPD Australasia) have been recognised by the New Zealand Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment (MBIE) as being of the highest quality data source for embodied carbon assessments.
The recognition is contained in the MBIE’s recently published technical guidance for the Building for Climate Change programme. The data quality matrix lists product-specific EN15804 EPDs as the highest quality data source followed by industry average EN15804 EPDs.
