Start open consultation: 2021-09-30
Deadline open consultation: 2021-10-29
Technical Guidance Note review and approval: 2021-11-12

This document was previously published as an Annex to the PCR for Asphalt mixtures and is now open for public consultation as a Technical Guidance Note to be issued by EPD Australasia, it is open for public consultation until 29 October 2021. Any stakeholder may comment on the draft by completing the approved feedback form and submitting to the EPD Australasia Programme Secretariat. Any questions on the document should be submitted to the author of the Technical Guidance Note. Review and publication dates are preliminary and subject to change.

This document describes additional guidance for the assessment of the environmental performance of the product category asphalt mixtures (UN CPC 1533 & 3794). It outlines additional criteria to the main PCR for asphalt mixtures (PCR 2018:04 version 1.01; date 2018-10-10) published by the International EPD System for setting out the parameters to prepare an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD®) according to ISO14025 and EN15804.

This document is applicable for a particular asphalt mixture, from a specific asphalt plant with a specific production temperature. Hence, the design of the asphalt mixture is necessary to produce the specific EPD. The approach taken for this may also be considered applicable and adaptable for other bitumen based products. The purpose of this draft update is to align with EN 15804+A2 and the guidance contained in it is compliant with the General Programme Instructions.

This PCR appendix is compliant with the main PCR, EN15804 and General Programme Instructions v4.0, and the Australasian Annex to the General Programme Instructions.
