As you may have read in our newsletter Tasman Insulation recently published their EPD for their Pink® Batts® Glass Wool insulation. This was the 50th EPD to be published by EPD Australasia. Last week EPD Australasia Director Martin Fryer took the opportunity to congratulate Tasman Insulation in person.
“This is a major milestone for EPD Australasia and one we are very proud of”, says Martin, “Tasman Insulation are just one of the forward-thinking companies, like our other members leading the way in publishing an EPD for their products, providing transparent and credible environmental information.”
Stu Henwood, the General Manager of Tasman Insulation accepted the award for this 50th EPD stating “Tasman Insulation has a philosophy of continuous improvement and transparent product disclosure. The EPD adds real value both within our organisation and for our customers.”
The scope of EPDs in Australasia is continuing to grow with recent EPDs including those for a train and for a whole building.
“While EPDs in Australasia have traditionally been popular in the building and construction sector, with companies such as Tasman Insulation, we are seeing a growth in interest from other sectors. These include fibres and fabrics, furniture, packaging, food and agriculture, and we continue to explore ways in which EPD Australasia can support these industries to create and publish EPDs” says Martin Fryer.
