Xypex solutions extend the service life of concrete and reduce the need and associated carbon footprint of raw material required for repairs and maintenance. This service life extension also reduces the need to demolish and rebuild new structures earlier than planned, which reduces the carbon impact over time.

Xypex Coatings are unique chemical treatments that have been specially formulated to enhance the watertightness and durability of reinforced concrete. Xypex Coatings contain various active proprietary chemicals and are applied to existing concrete structures to provide protection and remediation. These active chemicals react with moisture and the by-products of cement hydration in the concrete substrate to cause a catalytic reaction. This reaction generates a non-soluble crystalline formation throughout the pores and capillary tracts of the concrete that permanently seals the concrete and prevents the penetration of water and deleterious ions from any direction.

This Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is a robust, evidence-based, independently verified, and standardised tool to declare the environmental performance of Xypex solutions which can support credit contribution for industry sustainability rating tools, including the GreenStar and IS Rating Schemes.
