This EPD covers unplasticised PVC (PVC-U) non-pressure pipe and conduit products for Drain, Waste and Vent (DWV), stormwater, electrical and telecommunications applications. PVC-U contains no phthalates or other plasticisers.
Vinidex pipe and conduit products conform to the relevant Australian Standards and have StandardsMark product certification. Products intended for plumbing applications also have WaterMark certification permitting their use in plumbing applications in accordance with the Plumbing code. Vinidex PVC pipe and conduit products have been independently certified as complying with Best Environmental Practice requirements for pipes and fittings for the built environment developed by the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA).
The EPD conforms to ISO 14025, EN 15804 and PCR 2012:01 Construction Products and Construction Services v2.0. The EPD covers a ‘cradle-to-gate with options’ scope with the intent to cover all modules of significant environmental impact over the full product life cycle.
The declared unit is one kilogram of installed PVC non-pressure pipe or conduit.
This EPD complies with the requirements for a ‘product-specific EPD’ and can be used to obtain Product Sustainability credit points under the GBCA’s Green Star rating tools and can be used to represent PVC pipe products in Whole of Building Life Cycle Assessments.
