The Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) helps secure the future of steelmaking at the Glenbrook site in Auckland. Set for operation in 2026, it will enable New Zealand Steel to shrink its carbon footprint and will enable New Zealand, to be as close to self-sufficient as possible, utilising a largely renewable grid and recycling scrap steel.

This EPD sets out information on the average AXXIS® Steel products manufactured by New Zealand Steel. Axxis® steel is galvanised, high-tensile steel specifically designed for New Zealand’s house-framing market. This EPD is valid for one square metre (1m2) manufactured by New Zealand Steel.
