The last few months have seen a plethora of new EPDs in the building and construction sector – an obvious sign that the demand for transparent environmental information continues to grow in significance in these key sectors.
Three separate brands have published a total of 7 EPDs for concrete products in the last 3 months:
BarChip Inc, specialists in non-corrosive concrete reinforcement systems, have published 3 EPDs for their range of Macro Synthetic Fibre Concrete Reinforcement.
Holcim (Australia), leading suppliers of aggregates, concrete readymix and pipes, have now published 6 EPDs. Most recently they have added EPDs for the ViroDecs range of ready mix concrete and Humes Precast and Prestressed Concrete.
In other construction categories, XLAM, NZ based experts in engineered wood products, has published an EPD for their Cross Laminated Timber and Rondo, Australia’s leading manufacturer and supplier of wall and ceiling systems, has completed an EPD for their full range of ceiling, wall framing and finishing products.
Looking beyond construction, RailConnect have published their first EPD, publishing an insight into the environmental impact of their New Intercity Fleet (NIF) trains which travel between Sydney and the Central Coast, Newcastle, Blue Mountains and NSW South Coast.
