The two most recent EPDs published in Australasia were both orchestrated by industry associations, rather than individual companies. EPD Australasia is delighted to see industries working collectively to offer up transparent, detailed environmental data.
The Wood Processors’ and Manufacturers’ Association of New Zealand (WPMA) compiled data from participating members to establish a cradle to gate EPD for solid, finger-jointed and laminated timber products. The EPD was developed to help showcase the environmental credentials of members’ products made from sustainably managed New Zealand radiata pine.
The Galvanizers Association of Australia (GAA), which represents leading hot dip galvanizing companies in Australia and New Zealand, published a collective EPD for the hot dip galvanizing. The EPD covers steel products, steel plate and hollow structural steel sections that are hot dip galvanized after fabrication by members of the GAA.
